That's a good question, Jerry. To answer that, you need to answer another question: why were you baptized? You said it was because you wanted to be just like your friend. The Bible, in Acts 2:38 and other places, says baptism is to be for the remission of your sins. Baptism for any other reason is merely the "removal of the filth of the flesh" (1 Peter 3:21). So, I wouldn't look at it as a second baptism, or a re-baptism, but whether you were truly baptized according to the God's Word in the first place.

I also want to clarify that sinning after you have been baptized does not nullify the initial cleansing you received. What it does do is grant you access to the power of prayer for the purpose of asking forgiveness for those sins you do happen to commit.

God bless, Jerry, and I hope these answers help you in your spiritual journey.

Is it acceptable of GOD to be Baptized twice? I do not remember a time that I did not believe in Jesus, because i always have, but the question i have, is that when i was around 8 or 9 i was Baptized because a friend did, and i wanted to be just like my friend. Since then (60) yrs, i have lived a sinful life...so has my baptism been invalid in the sight of GOD. Was i ever saved ? As i mentioned i have always believed in Jesus and now that i am in my waning years should i be re-baptized to be accepted by GOD?
                           Sincerely
                            Jerry jordan
